Listed as an Engineer, resident at Hull when initiated, aged 31, into Wilberforce Lodge No. 2134 in 1913. His date of birth is two years out, with no real reason why. His service to Freemasonry is shortlived, him only making the Entered Apprentice's rank. The final annotation against his contribution records is that he "Died at Sea May 1917," the news of his loss, perhaps, taking some time to reach Grand Lodge.
