From the record in the register of the Lodge at the United Grand Lodge of England it shows that French was a Planter and located at Kandy. It is uncertain whether he actually joined, as it shows only an incomplete entry. It does, however, show that he "Died 1915". There is also a "French Warburton Gray", who of the same name had previously been initiated in 1884 - probably his father?
