Early Life :

Born at North Shields in 1873 and baptised at Christ Church, Tynemouth 9th October 1873. Son of the late Charles and Hannah Barnsley. In 1881, Elijah and his sisters Elizabeth (1871), Jane (1876) and Irene (1885), were living with grand-parents at George Street, Tynemouth (perhaps a visit). In the latter half of 1900, he married Cicely Isabella, of 3, Beaumont St., North Shields.

Probate record shows: 3 Beaumont Street, North Shields. Marine Engineer. Died 11 March 1917 at sea. Administration at Newcastle-upon-Tyne2 24th August to Cicely Isabella Barnsley - widow. Effect £157
