344584 Shipwright 2nd Class Samuel James House, Royal Navy.

He enlisted for service in the Royal Navy 4th February, 1902 at Devonport.

Awarded Bronze Medal for Military Valour by King of Italy 23rd November, 1917.

His service record shows that HMS Auricular was not the last ship he served aboard. He served on board until 20th January, 1919 when he was transferred to HMS Pactolus to the date of death on 24th February, 1919. He died of spinal related disease.

Probate HOUSE Samuel James of 129 Pasley-street Stoke Devonport 2nd class R.N. died 24 February 1919 at Greenock Infirmary Greenock Administration Exeter 27 May to Ida Florence House widow. Effects £230 0s. 10d.
