Gunner James Reed Jenkins, Royal Navy. Killed by a mine explosion 27th March, 1918 aboard HMS Exe.

HMS Exe was not sunk, but James's body was washed overboard.

James was already over 17 months into the war by the time he was initiated into Landport Lodge in Portsmouth. He is listed as a 29 year old Petty Officer in the Royal Navy. No explicit war service is recorded and the contribution record shows that, in the 1918 column, he "Died 27.3.18."
