"His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to confer the Military Cross on the undermentioned Officers and Warrant Officers in recognition of their gallantry and devotion to duty in the Field : Lt. Brian Brock Bayly, R.E. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He carried out a daring reconnaissance, obtaining valuable information, blew up two enemy mine shafts, and captured three prisoners. He has previously done fine work."

Records of United Grand Lodge show that initiation into Kinta Lodge, Eastern Archipelago was in 1910. There is a note which shows exclusion from 31st December 1915. This is probably due to non-payment of dues.
