The records of the United Grand Lodge of England for Ralph show that he joined Shirley Lodge No. 1112 on the 3rd February 1913. His mother Lodge was located in St. Helen's, Lancashire L897, but resigned October 1910.
The annotation in the register of Shirley shows "Resd [Resigned] 31st Dec 1919". This is evidently incorrect and perhaps a kind assumption on behalf of the recorder back in 1919.
