(Discharge number R 53754) Chief Engineer Bertram West Knowles of the Mercantile Marine, SS Turino* (London). Died 4 February 1917 aged 32.
A privately-owned merchant ship, Turino was torpedoed and sunk by U 43 on 4 February 1917 en route from Virginia to Liverpool with a loss of four lives.
