It also groups those who through Post Traumatic Stress committed suicide as a result of their experiences.

Lieutenant Sydney Alfred Maddick, 20th Battalion The King's Liverpool Regiment, attached 1st/6th King's African Rifles.
He died of D.A.H. (Diffuse alveolar haemorrhage) and Cardiac failure at No. 3 B.G. Hospital, Nairobi, after 6 months in country. He is buried in the Nairobi Cemetery III.A.4.

He was a 27 year old worker in the Natal Police when initiated into Eschowe Lodge No. 2596 in 1908. The contribution record shows that he resigned on the 9th April, 1912 and then 14th March, 1914.
Joined Lodge of Sincerity No. 292, Liverpool 18th September, 1916. His war service is shown over 1918-1919, then "Died 2nd Decr 1918."
