Joseph was already initiated into the Scottish Constitution and came in from Lodge 351 S.C., in 1882 by joining Lodge of Harmony and Industry No. 381 E.C. He became an honorary member in February 1913. He was listed as an agent in Darwen.
Petitioner and joining member of Volunteer Lodge at its consecration around September 1902. War service is recorded followed by "Died Jan.15'1915." He was a Past Master, and Past Provincial Grand Deacon in the Province of East Lancashire.
