His death was reported in the Newcastle Journal on 14th December 1918 - "ROLL OF HONOUR - Mrs Robson, 3, Wentworth Place, late 24 Chelsea Grove, Newcastle, has been informed that her husband, Private George Robson, 2nd D.L.I., was killed in action on September 24th. He was for 2 years in the offices of Messrs Bell and Taylor, Bigg Market, Newcastle."
