4618 Serjeant William Sharp, East Yorkshire Regiment. Died 4th October, 1916 at Hipswell Camp, Catterick.

The Newcastle Journal of 6th October, 1916 reports his death having been home on leave. He was a Relieving Officer for the North Shields district of Tynemouth Union and had been sometime Bandmaster of Tynemouth Workhouse boys' band. He left a widow and five children.
Probate SHARP William of 5 Lovaine-place West North Shields relieving officer died 4 October 1916 at the military camp Catterick Richmond Yorkshire Probate Newcastle-upon-Tyne 13 November to Septimus Scott superintendent registrar and George Haddon registrar of births deaths and marriages. Effects £290 10s. 10d.
He is buried in a Commonwealth War Grave inn Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery, Grave Reference C.U. 8795.
