Post War includes all operations in all theatres up to 31st August 1921. This excludes the campaign in Russia against the Bolsheviks. It also includes men who succombed to wounds post war and who died from various causes whilst still in the services but post war.
He was commandant of 2nd Mountain Brigade RGA on his death in 1919.
Detail :
The British Army was the first to follow the French example and establish a camouflage section. Known as the Special Works Park RE (Royal Engineers), it was set up in March 1916 under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Francis Wyatt. He entered the Royal Artillery in 1892 and promoted as Captain in 1899 and was Adjutant Volunteers 1901 - 1907 becoming Major, Royal Artillery in 1912. He served in the North Western Frontier from 1897 to 1908.
According to The Times of the 29th December 1919, which has the following in its Killed In Action column: "WYATT.- On the 16th Dec., at Rawal Pindi, India, of illness due to active service, FRANCIS OGILVY WYATT, Lt.-Colonel, R.A., M.V.O., third surviving son of the late J.M.G. Wyatt, Kingston Hill, Surrey."
