Service No. 6514 Sergeant Robert Glenny, No. 10 Company Royal Army Medical Corps Died: 25/3/16.
He was a Sergeant in 1903 so possibly saw active service in the 2nd Boer War, but not confirmed. Served at Home during the Great War.
Died, aged 50, at Westcliff according to Soldiers Died in the Great War. Death Registered at Q1/1916 at Rochford, Essex.
His grave is tended by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission where he is buried at Fort Pitt Military Cemetery, Kent. The inscription stated “NOT GONE FROM MEMORY OR FROM LOVE BUT GONE TO FATHER'S HOUSE ABOVE”

A 19 year old Frederick Gooch described Robert as his Uncle upon enlistment into 5th Battalion K.R.R. (Ser No. R/12898) 15th May 1915. Both him and Robert were resident at 53 Onslow Road, Rochester.
