Although many perished in times of national conflict and in the service of their country, many more survived including those interned as Prisoners of War. 42541 Sergeant Robert Carhampton Morgan, New Zealand Expeditionary Force.
Born Tasmania in 1872. In the pre-war years he was a Land Agent.
Enlisted for service with N.Z.E.F 20th December 1916, serving for the remainder of the Great War initially with D Company, 24th Battalion and completing service as a Sergeant with the Otago Infantry Regiment.
Died at Dunedin Public Hospital.
