More than likely to be Neils Knud Rostgaard who was bord in Svendoborg, Denmark. He was born 15th July, 1884 and emigrated to New Zealand via UK and Australia, making Opotiki his home.Service Life:

Although many perished in times of national conflict and in the service of their country, many more survived including those interned as Prisoners of War. Stories of those who did survive are included as part of this site, especially those with high gallantry awards, those included against an external rolls of honour and those who had a distinguished career in wartime and military leaderhip.

Probably NZ Soldier 4/1634 Neil Knud ROSTGUARD. He is listed on the NZ WW1 masonic roll, but this actual name is not recorded in the registers. There is an Olaf Neil Rostgard who was initiated in 1904, but as this is not an exact name match it is not him, although may be a relation.
