Born 19 April 1874 Kingston-upon-Hull, HumbersideEmigrated to New Zealand and became a Postal Clerk.
Returned to New Zealand on the 29th January 1916, and re-embarked for service overseas on the 30th May 1916

Although many perished in times of national conflict and in the service of their country, many more survived including those interned as Prisoners of War.
