Son of Henry and Emily Jolly.
Brother of Sydney Herbert Jolly (45954), who served during the Boer War and World War I and with the Home Guard in WW2.
The Auckland Museum Library's manuscripts collection contains papers and photographs relating to Jolly's war service. [Ref. MS 1061, folders 1-2] See also letter written by Jolly while convalescing at St Patrick's Hospital, Viletta [Valletta], Malta, describing his part in the attack on Chunuk Bair. [Ref. MS 1061, folder 1, item 8]
Serial Number is recorded as 11/739 in Nominal Rolls, as 11/739A in Archives New Zealand. Postcard from E.E. Jolly to his mother Emily from the Auckland War Memorial Museum Library. MS 1061 manuscript collection was published in the ANZAC Supplement to the New Zealand Herald 2008
