His name is erroneously recorded as Goodall in masonic ledger.
Walter started his masonic career outside of the English Constitution, coming in from the "German" const. on the 4th May 1903. He is described as a 39 year old Manufacturer's Agent, his address given as 64 Leadenhall Street, in the East Central part of London. He receives his English Grand Lodge Certificate on the 25th September. He paid his dues without incident, but resigns in September, 1909.
When Walter joined Lodge of Freedom, No. 77 at Gravesend, East Kent, he was listed as a 42 year old Merchant, resident in Hamburg. War Service is shown in the contribution record, as well as absence, but he catches up with his arrears before absence arrears in 1921. If he was aged 39 in 1903, there is a problem with his age given, as he would by 1914 be aged 50.
