The Final Advance in Artois occured 2nd October - 11th November 1918. Concurrently with the advances in the Somme and Arras sectors the First and Fifth British Armies continued the advance and chase the Germans back towards the Belgian border.
Detail :
A document on the Canadian Virtual War Memorial site records that Frederick's unit was located at the "Canal de la Sensee" and that "while he was proceeding along the Canal to direct another Officer and his Platoon the way to their lines, he was instantly killed by a bullet from the rifle of an enemy sniper."
