Early Life :
Son of David and Mary Arnold, of Hythe, Kenthusband of E. R. Arnold, of 46, Prince of Wales Rd., Norwich.
1911 he was resident with his mother and brother at 6 Church Hill, Hythe, Kent.
In 1918, as he joined Freemasonry and prior to him being killed, he was living in Droitwich. The Lodge he joined was in Kent, so perhaps barracked with the Royal West Kent Regiment at the time.
Family :
He is buried in Houchin British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. His war medals including the British War and Victory Medals were sold at auction in 2000. The indicated price was GBP 120.Service Life:

Moved initially to Colchester and on to Purfleet in September 1914 before going to billets in Hythe in December. Moved to Aldershot in February 1915. 1 June 1915 : landed at Boulogne. |

The Final Advance in Artois occured 2nd October - 11th November 1918. Concurrently with the advances in the Somme and Arras sectors the First and Fifth British Armies continued the advance and chase the Germans back towards the Belgian border.

ARNOLD, Frederick Arthur, Lieutenant, 6/Queens Own (Royal West Kent) Regiment 2nd Lieutenant F. A. Arnold, Royal West Kent Regiment, was mortally wounded at Billy Montigny in October 1918. Frederick Arthur Arnold enlisted in the 3/1st Kent Cyclist Battalion in December 1915, and served with them until August 1916 when he transferred to the 11th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment. He was commissioned into the 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, on 26 June 1918, and mortally wounded during the clearing of Billy Montigny near Lens, on 11 October 1918, and died of his wounds two days later.
