The Master and sixteen men lost their lives The SSShimosa (4221grt) owned by J. Barnett and Co of Liverpool was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U46 220 miles north west from Eagle Island, County Mayo with the loss of the Master and 16 crew on a voyage from Le Harve to Montreal |
