1/13th (County of London) Battalion (Kensington) August 1914 : at Iverna Gardens. Part of 4th London Brigade, 2nd London Division. Moved on mobilisation to Abbotts Langley. 4 November 1914 : left the Division and landed at Le Havre. 13 November 1914 : came under command of 25th Brigade in 8th Division. 20 May 1915 : transferred to GHQ Troops and formed a composite unit with 1/5th and 1/12th Bns. Resumed identity 11 August. 11 February 1916 : transferred to 168th Brigade in 56th (London) Division. |

Frank Rudolph ROSEVEAR. Son of William Arthur and Nellie Sophia Wilde. He took the name Rosevear by deed poll following the death of his father and his mother's remarriage. He worked for the Home department: Board of Trade - Labour Department (London & South Eastern Division). According to Murphy's Register, a Captain F R Rosevear is listed, with photograph, in Sphere, 181102, page 89, though his regiment is given as Royal Fusiliers. F R Rosevear is commemorated on the Memorial to the Staff of the Ministry of Labour, now hanging in Caxton House, Tothill Street, London SW1. (DTI Memorial to the dead, http://www.dti.gov.uk/warmemorial/ww1/235.htm). Captain ROSEVEAR reported joining the Kensingtons at TELEGRAPH HILL, near ARRAS, on 9 May 1917 (Source: WO 92 2955, 1/13 War Diary, 9 May 1917). 2/Lt ROSEVEAR reported evacuated sick on 6 April 1916 (Source: WO 95 2955, 6 April 1916). THE LONDON GAZETTE, 5 MARCH, 1915. 13th (County of London) Princess Louise's Kensington Battalion, The London Regiment; the undermentioned to be Second Lieutenants: ? Frank Rudolph Rosevear. Dated 1st March, 1915. His brother Archibald Malcolm ROSEVEAR also served in the 1/13 London Regiment and was wounded and died in 1920. He was also a member of KENSINGTON BATTALION LODGE No 3624.
